WHO WE ARE

PLEASE NOTE: AS OF 6 MAY 2022 THIS SITE IS NO LONGER UPDATED AND NO LONGER ACTIVE

Ealing Independent Network (EALING IN) is a fast-growing grassroots group set up by local residents in the London Borough of Ealing who have had enough of national political parties running the local council.

May 5 2022 sees our first Ealing election where we will have 11 candidates standing in 6 wards.

EALING IN aims to ensure a cleaner, better, fairer and safer borough for all who live here throughout our 7 towns of Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall.

EALING IN candidates will be standing for council seats in the following wards: Southall Green, Southall West, Southall Broadway, Dormers Wells, East Acton and North Acton to ensure that local residents and businesses get improved services in Ealing and make it a better place for all.

Our candidates are:

Southall Green ward: David Marsden, Sufiyan Abdul-Qayum , Amrik Mahi

Southall West ward: Joe Bhangu, Ray Crossfield, Southall Broadway ward: Harmandra Dhaliwal, Rashpal Bhatti

Dormers Wells ward: Minni Dogra

East Acton: Dan Lalla

North Acton: Greg Wixted, Leslie Bunder

Through our membership of the Independent Network, we are standing candidates in the May 2022 Ealing elections.

Local independent candidates offer an alternative to the existing political parties who all too often place national politics ahead of local people and issues in Ealing.

A change of council is needed, as the existing political parties have let down residents and businesses by following their own national agendas – a strategy which has been allowed to damage Ealing.

We are people from all parts of the community united to making the borough better after years of not being listened to by the established parties who have shown total disregard to residents and local businesses.

Like so many residents and businesses, we are fed up with the way the existing council has been run. It has failed to listen to local people, not been open or transparent and provides very little accountability.

We will be challenging the established parties by championing true local candidates, who are not influenced by party politics but instead are driven to change things at a local level.

Ealing Independents will listen and help in supporting residents and businesses by giving local independent candidates the opportunity to challenge the established parties.

Ealing Independents is all about putting Ealing residents and businesses first and ensuring their needs are represented and their issues are fully addressed, so that it becomes a better place for all.

WHY ?

We’re here for you because Ealing council has let down local residents and businesses.

It’s time to address that with an independent group of local councillors who you can vote for and who will stand first for all Ealing residents and businesses.

We are here for you

EALING DESERVES BETTER

Ealing IN is here to help make change for everyone who lives here.

Ealing residents and businesses need and deserve better from their council. This includes:

  • Building more council homes and providing more affordable housing.
  • Improving safety in the borough.
  • Supporting local businesses and local shops to grow and thrive.
  • Stopping outsourcing of council services by bringing them in- house and making them council run. This will ensure better provision of local services as well as creating more local jobs.
  • Transport infrastructure that allows people to shop local and park local. Local shopping helps support businesses in the area.
  • Ensuring all Ealing residents have a safe environment to live, work and study in. This includes making sure that toxic air from developments in places such as Southall Gasworks are improved and make safe.
  • Better schools, education and youth services and improving standards.
  • Roads that respect all users and stakeholders including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
  • Helping disabled people and offering better services for those who are disabled in the community to ensure they are not side-lined or marginalised.
  • Supporting senior citizens to ensure they no longer feel disadvantaged because of age.
  • Showcasing Ealing as a tourist destination to encourage more people to visit and shop.
  • Celebrating its diverse arts, culture and heritage.

You can contact us directly about what concerns you and what you want to see improved in Ealing.

We want Ealing to be a better place for everyone. We are listening and we want to ensure that local residents and businesses in Ealing get the services they deserve.

CHANGE IS NEEDED

On May 5 2022, it will be time to vote for a new council. EALING IN councillors place Ealing residents and businesses at the heart of everything and are open and honest to local people and local businesses.

Since 2010, the current Labour council and before that the Conservative council has shown total disregard for locals, and taken for granted their views as well as the needs of Ealing residents and businesses.

People have had to pay for poor services from a council that has lacked accountability, listening and transparency.

This has resulted in Ealing not achieving its full potential. Both Labour and Conservatives have let down and taken advantage of residents and businesses and put their own national party ahead of the borough’s local community.

These issues have included:

  • Not providing affordable housing for local people
  • Not addressing the safety of the public. There is not enough street lighting nor has funds been allocated to provide CCTV in areas which experience crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Delivering poor quality social services for youth, elderly and the disabled
  • Allowing properties to be built without listening to local people and their concerns which includes the environment and affordability of these properties.
  • Labour running Ealing Council has allowed developments to be built which has caused dangerous toxic air to communities including those in Southall and impacts their health.
  • Failing to ensure that Ealing school catering workers get paid a Living Wage even though Ealing Council is signed up to making sure this is paid to those working for the council.
  • Introducing road restrictions without proper consultation causing danger and stress to people trying to get in and out of roads
  • Going ahead with projects where locals have strongly objected
  • Not helping or listening to small local businesses and their concerns
  • Playing national politics games at the expense of local people and local businesses
  • Failing to be transparent in what it does

Enough is enough. That is why it’s time for Ealing IN, who will seek to ensure that Ealing residents and businesses no longer have to put up with this kind of treatment.

FRIENDS OF EALING IN

If you live outside Ealing and welcome what we are doing, then you can be part of Friends of EALING IN.

This is for those who live outside of the borough but have a connection to it.

They, like current Ealing residents and businesses want to see it improve, thrive and grow.

Friends of EALING IN can come from all parts of London as well as the UK and even abroad to show their support for the group and their desire for change.

If you are outside Ealing and support what EALING IN is seeking to achieve, get in touch with us.

VOTE EALING IN

When it comes to May 5 2022 elections in Ealing, Ealing IN will be there for you.

We will work to ensure Ealing becomes  cleaner, better, fairer and safer borough for all.

Independent councillors will stand up for you and your family. Fight for Ealing businesses and above all to ensure your interests are put ahead of national party politics.

Ealing Council needs to be taken back by local people who care about local residents and businesses, and who will always act to ensure the needs of the borough come first.

Local residents and businesses are suffering from having councillors belonging to existing political parties who will place their party first before residents and businesses.

The national parties of Labour, Liberal Democrats and Conservatives constantly play party political games at the expense of local Ealing residents and businesses.

Their loyalty is to their national party first. Their councillors are selected based on their political allegiance in order to follow party guidelines. Their councillors are answerable to their party above all else.

EALING IN is fully committed to Ealing and its communities. We will answer to Ealing residents only.

May 6 2022 will provide the opportunity to vote out existing political party councillors and replace with EALING IN – and finally put locals first.
